Husband sent me this photo of himself standing by the Eiffel Tower. Wish I could be there with him, as we had planned, but things happen, things change - like a little baby arriving into town, bringing his mom in tow, and looking for a place to call home! Druck says it is quite cold there anyway and it was snowing in Paris on Monday. It's nicer here (yeah, keep telling yourself that!). I am going to NY this weekend, hopefully for some R&R, although I tend to be on the go constantly while there, visiting family and friends. I'd rather be running around crazy visiting people, though, than having no one in my life. Busy is a good thing. While there, however, I won't be contributing to the blog, but will resume Monday night or Tuesday morning. Hopefully, all goes well on the midwestern front while I am gone and Mary and Liam don't miss me too much. :0)
Today is Liam's 6 week check up. We had him to the doctor's office the other day for a look at the potential hernia which was, indeed, confirmed to be one. Liam will be having surgery soon and it is hard looking at such a little peanut and think he's going to have to go through that but the rest of us survived hernia surgery at a very young age.
After his checkup, we will be going to the grocery store yet again for the items we forgot to get the other day. My life has been a little disorganized since the little man and his mother came into it, bringing along sixteen boxes, most of which are still not unpacked. My usual style is to go grocery shopping twice a month. Before I go, I plan my menu for the next two weeks and write out everything I will need to make those meals. This hasn't happened since we returned from Alaska and I am feeling just a bit out of control. My bedroom looks like a cyclone went through it (I must get to that before my husband returns from Paris) and my bathroom has all of my lotions, gels, perfumes, laying all over the counter. One might say, "well, you have time to write this freaking blog, so why can't you put your stuff away?" Because! I write this blog in segments, on the fly, between feeding Liam while Catherine takes a shower, running to his appointments, etc. This is no small undertaking!
After returning from a couple of errands with Catherine and Liam, I sat down and wrote a bit more. We had a quick spin through Target to see if we could find some storage compartments for the volumes of clothing that Liam has already acquired at less than six weeks old. We didn't see what we were looking for and so, after Liam's appointment, we will be stopping at Walmart.
Went to Liam's appointment and they informed us that it wasn't until NEXT Wednesday. Catherine pulled out the appointment card they gave her when he was there for his 3 week check up and it said today's date on it. Regardless, and without any apologies from the staff, we will have to wait until next week. At least it is a nice day for drives. And Liam sleeps peacefully in his carseat.
After leaving our non-appointment, we went to Walmart where Catherine found the storage things she was looking for. We left Walmart and got home 45 minutes before I had to be at Church for our prayer meeting. I fed Liam while Mary got something to eat and then I told her I had to get ready to go. I am still trying to fix this lousy hair. It is the worst. A bag over my head would be better than this.
On a happier note, here is a photo of Liam with his nanny, Ziggy, on the couch this morning. Ziggy is very protective of his first client.
I made it to my Church meeting at 4:30, came home at 6:45 and made dinner, ate, watched the end of Wheel of Fortune and am now going to post today's blog and do some housework.
